These 2 days begin at Åsby Hotel 9:00 AM for carpooling in our minibus to Framnäs where the paddling tour starts. During the day, we will guide you through the most beautiful part of the Strömsholm Canal and delve into its history. After some paddling along winding waters, we will serve coffee and buns directly in the canoe while the cows in the nearby meadows wander along the canal.

After the break, the paddling continues to an island where there is a shelter with a fireplace. Now it’s time to cook a classic Swedish outdoor lunch over an open fire – “kolbullar” with lingonberry jam and locally made sausages!

With full stomachs, we launch the canoes and paddle to the canal lock that has been preserved to function the same way as when it was built in 1795. Here you will first get to experience the canal lock from the canoes and then go ashore to see how the historical locks are operated.

The paddling tour continues to Hallstahammar where we visit Trångfors forge, which is the foundation of the town. The forge started in 1628 and was active until the early 1900s. We will look into the history of the forge and how the smiths worked diligently for hundreds of years before we walk back to the hotel to check in at 4:00 PM.

After checking in, you will experience the hotel’s relaxing spa ritual. Here you will be enveloped in warmth, lovely scents and luxury. After the ritual, you can sit in the relaxation area for something good to drink or eat. At 7:00 PM, you are welcomed to the restaurant where you will enjoy a 3-course dinner. The next morning, breakfast is served, and then you can take the opportunity to walk around the surroundings before checking out.

Price: 3495 SEK per person in a double room, 3990 SEK per person in a single room.

Included in the price: Canoe rental, life jacket, waterproof pack bag, coffee and lunch during the tour, going through a canal lock and guided tour. One night hotel stay in a double room, spa admission, 3-course dinner, breakfast buffet.

You need to bring: Complete change of clothes packed in plastic bags, suitable clothing according to temperature and weather.
